wedding ceremonies at the citadel
Your ceremony sets the tone for everything that follows.
That may mean a traditional ceremony at St Luke’s Chapel, our village chapel, where centuries of stone and hymn lend quiet gravitas. Or it may unfold in our summer garden, a rose-framed walled sanctuary where vows are exchanged beneath open sky.
A wedding ceremony at The Citadel unfolds without intrusion.
For many, it begins at St Luke’s Chapel, just moments from the house. For others, it takes place in their local church, or here in our summer garden. Regardless of your ceremony choice, the surrounding hills, gardens, and sense of seclusion allow your celebratory moments here at The Citadel to feel entirely your own.

Situated in the village of Weston-under-Redcastle, St Luke’s Chapel is a Grade II listed Anglican church built in 1791 from local red sandstone. Just a short walk — or carriage ride — from The Citadel, it feels woven into the fabric of the village itself.
Lovingly supported by the village and part of an active parish community, St Luke’s welcomes couples from outside the parish to marry in their church.
